Arseniy Yatseniuk’s Open Ukraine Foundation has begun a support program for young, active and successful women “Space of Change. Women-leaders”. The news was announced by Director of Open Ukraine Foundation Ivanna KLYMPUSH-TSINTSADZE during today’s press-conference at the “UNIAN” news agency. According to her words, women in Ukraine today are under-represented in the executive and electoral posts. “The shortage of active people and new faces is felt in Ukraine,” - Ivanna KLYMPUSH-TSINTSADZE added. That’s why, the Foundation wants to create a community of women, who would support each other, - she noted.
Co-managing partner of “Horizon Capital” company, member of the Open Ukraine Foundation’s Supervisory Council Nataliya YARESKO has supported this view: “We are not using women work experience to the full extent. The hardest problems in the world are impossible to solve without participation and experience of women”.
N. YARESKO reminded about the role of women in modern developed democratic countries. According to her words, the level of corruption lessens there, where women play more active role in societal life.
An active participant of the previous “Space of Change” program, now Executive Director of non-governmental organization “Narodna Dopomoha – Lviv” Yurij LOPATYNSKIY has shared with journalists his impressions from participation in the previous competition of the program “Space of Change”. “I got a possibility to share my experience and to learn from others,” – he said. According to his words, such project gives a prospect of using one’s potential, to grow and to develop.
We’d like to remind that “Space of Change. Women-leaders” program is searching for women, who work for changing the country for the better and who carry out projects, which help the local communities.
Program participants will be able to get resources to realize an information campaign, to realize their own ideas and present projects to public at the national level, to get a possibility for professional development through the specially organized educational programs and trainings, to exchange experience and practices with colleagues.
Enterprises, associations of citizens, public organizations, educational establishments, media, governmental bodies and local authorities can nominate participants for the project. For nomination, an electronic application form has to be filled-in, which is available on the Foundation’s web-site: http://openukraine.org/ua/programs/young-generations/space_of_change, and has to be sent to the Foundation via e-mail: space@openukraine.org.
Out of received applications the “Space of Change” program’s Supervisory Council will choose 30 bright, extraordinary and successful women under age of 35 to become the participants of this year’s program.
The project is supported by the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues - Small Grants Initiative.
